400-SERIES-R-OLT | PON Evo™ 400 Series GPON/XGS-PON R-OLT

The PON Evo™ 400 Series is a next-generation Remote Optical Line Terminal (R-OLT) module for Aurora Networks cable nodes and virtual hubs. Part of Aurora Networks outside plant node connectivity portfolio, the 400 Series is optimized for geographically distributed PON applications where the OLT is placed in the outside plant to deliver ultra-high bandwidth services to the subscribers.

The 400 Series R-OLT broadens PON deployments by economically serving smaller groups of subscribers, saving space and power, using existing fiber and available enclosures driving PON-based services cost effectively through the last mile. 

The 400 Series R-OLT complies with the ITU standards for GPON (G.984.x), XGS-PON (G.9807.1), OMCI (G.988), and Broadband Forum TR-156/TR-280. It provides up to eight XGS-PON interfaces, up to eight GPON interfaces or up to four Combo interfaces delivering both GPON and XGS-PON simultaneously.  Each PON interface can serve 128 Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) for a total of up to 1024 subscribers.  

The 400 Series R-OLT utilizes standard 10G or 25G Ethernet uplinks, including DWDM, and Bi-Di, for connecting to a Leaf Aggregation switch/router in the Converged Interconnect Network (CIN) enabling operators to extend the PON deployments to serve subscribers at distances well beyond the typical 20 km reach of a centralized chassis, while utilizing their transport backhaul fiber resources efficiently.
